"Dr. Bernadine Ahonkhai, Coalition4Justice Founder & President attended the May 12, 2023 Legislative Forum at the Giant Community Center in Willow Grove, Pa along with two members of the Coalition Steering Committee, Roberta Brooks and Ellen Price-Maloy.
The forum attendees interacted and engaged in meaningful discussions with each other and with PA legislators and legislative staff on a variety of topics, including education, safety net, healthcare, housing, and financial health & stability.
Dr. Ahonkhai co-facilitated the education breakout session. The breakout teams provided suggestions for continued conversations and action."
Dr. Bernadine had the opportunity to attend a 2-day education, equity and justice summit, "The Big Thing Summit" in Philadelphia hosted by Children's First, formerly PCCY. I had an amazing time with education professionals, clinicians and advocates. Children are the future of any nation. In the United States, where equitable education funding and school to prison pipeline are nagging issues among other disparities, we must ensure that no child, despite their background and zip code.
