ROOTED IN RESILIENCE: Celebrating Women Entrepreneurs Across Montgomery County

On Thursday, October 23, 2025. Montgomery County Commission for Women held “Rooted in Resilience” at the Bridgeport Borough Hall for MONTCO women entrepreneurs, offering information about the County, the Commission, local challenges for women entrepreneurs, and available resources. It was also an opportunity for the local women entrepreneurs to network and learn about with each other’s businesses and establish relationships.
Along with local female entrepreneurs, the event included three elected officials - County Commissioner Jamila Winder, Representative Mary Jo Daley of the 148th Legislative District and Chair of the House Tourism, Recreation and Economic Development Committee, and Andrea Deutsch, Mayor of Narberth Borough, PA.
The current United States shut down freezes $26 million in small business loans weekly across Pennsylvania as reported by the US Small Business Administration (Shutdown Freezes $26 Million in Small Business Loans Weekly Across Pennsylvania, SBA Reports - MyChesCo). Commissioner Winder thanked the female entrepreneurs for the services they are providing in the County, many of which she has personally visited and the Montgomery County Commission for Women for bringing the entrepreneurs together and providing an opportunity for them to learn about available County resources to support their businesses and to get to know each other.
She assured the audience that her goal is to visit other female businesses in County and to ensure that female entrepreneurs are supported by the County. There were small group discussions on three important topics – Financial Management, Work-Life Balance & Wellness, and Mentorship & Guidance.
The local entrepreneur’s catering and finger foods were delicious and helped create a welcoming atmosphere.
