Out and About: C4J Attends Advocacy Day 2025 with Fellow Partner Organizations

On June 4, 2025, the Coalition joined the BucksMont Collaborative, and the Community Action Network to meet with Harrisburg legislators to discuss housing insecurity, homelessness, and behavioral health. Representing the Coalition were Dr. Bernadine Ahonkhai and Roberta Brooks.
Dr. Ahonkhai attended meetings with Senator Maria Collette and Akbar Hossain, Secretary of Policy and Planning, as well as Representative Melissa Cerrato.
Ms. Brooks joined Representative Guenst, Deputy Secretary Smith from the Office of Mental Health and Substance Abuse Services, and Stephanie Meyer, Special Assistant for Housing, Health, and Human Services to discuss current state challenges and approaches to enact positive change.
Representative Ismail Smith-Wade El and Representative Napoleon Nelson capped off with a press conference held at the foot of the Rotunda staircase.
