About the event

Join us for a powerful webinar presented by Dr. Aima Ahonkhai Nottidge, that highlights how community-rooted partnerships can transform trusted spaces into engines for health equity, stigma reduction, and connection to care. Drawing from the nationally recognized, "Cutting Out Stigma” program, a barbershop-based health promotion initiative, the presentation explores how barbers, community leaders, and local organizations can serve as powerful catalysts for conversations around HIV, mental health, prevention, and broader wellness among Black men and underserved communities. The session emphasizes the importance of culturally grounded, community-driven solutions that move beyond traditional healthcare settings to build trust, strengthen engagement, and address longstanding inequities. Attendees will also hear how this model is expanding through a broader syndemic lens to address overlapping challenges including mental health and wellness, substance use, and social isolation.
