About the event
YVONNE UKWU, MD, MBA, daughter of Nigerian immigrants Ike Ukwu, Ph.D and Henrietta Ukwu, MD, learned early that hard work pays significant dividends. She will share her unique story and journey in the medical world and pharmaceutical sector.
She is an Associate Principal Scientist (Associate Director) in Global Regulatory Affairs at Merck & Co. Prior to joining Merck, she worked at Piedmont Physicians in Atlanta, GA, where she provided primary care as an attending physician throughout the COVID pandemic.
Yvonne obtained her Doctor of Medicine from the American University of Antigua Medical School and completed a residency in Family Medicine at Augusta University Medical Center. Prior to her residency, she spent a year at Otsuka Pharmaceuticals as a Global Pharmacovigilance Physician Fellow where she participated in safety data collection, monitoring, and reporting for marketed drugs. Yvonne has also earned an MBA from Plymouth State University Graduate College.
